The two teams struggled in the first quarter to get shots to fall. Matt Jones, Eddie Villar scored Marionville’s first six points before Greenfield tied the score.
Marty Minnis added four more points, and by the end of the quarter, Marionville led 15-13.
The Comets held the lead through the second quarter as Villar and Minnis added two points each early in the quarter. Ryan White stepped up for eight points before the close of the half. Marionville led 30-22.
Marionville increased its lead to 19 by the end of the third quarter as the Comets added 19 points and kept Greenfield to eight.
White, Villar, Derek Malcom, Minnis and Jon Zanaboni scored for the Comets in the third.
The Wildcats made a late comeback in the fourth quarter, hitting several three-pointers and free throws.
Jones, White, Geoffrey Stafford, Malcom and Villar helped Marionville seal the 59-50 win.
